Veteran joins Dell as China market head
DELL’S new head of its Chinese market will lead the US computer maker in helping clients use its innovative technology solutions to solve their IT challenges, Amit Midha, president of Dell Asia-Pacific and Japan, said yesterday.
Huang Chenhong, a 21-year industry veteran, will spearhead Dell’s efforts to provide innovative technology solutions to consumers, small and medium businesses, partners, public institutions and large enterprises in China in his role as president of the Chinese market, the US company said.
Huang will also work on offering end-to-end IT solutions covering data center and cloud computing.
“As we continue to expand our business in China, Dr Huang brings impressive experience and a keen understanding of how customers can use Dell solutions to solve their IT challenges,” said Midha.
Huang’s appointment came as Asia-Pacific personal computer sales fell 5.3 percent year on year in the third quarter, according to IT research firm Gartner Inc.
Huang joined Dell from Schneider Electric where he was global senior vice president. He had also worked as president and a board member of Tellabs China.
