Winit and eBay seal strategic agreement
GLOBAL e-commerce giant eBay and Shanghai-based logistics service provider Winit Corp yesterday signed a strategic agreement that allows Chinese vendors to sell to overseas buyers amid a rise in cross-border e-commerce transactions in recent years.
Winit will provide the Chinese vendors on eBay with a one-stop cross-border supply chain service to allow quicker delivery from overseas warehouses to buyers.
“Through our collaboration with Winit we hope Chinese exporters can leverage the comprehensive warehousing services to play a more important role in global trade and to better connect Chinese exporters and global buyers,” said John Lin, vice president of eBay and managing director of eBay China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Highly efficient logistic services will be a key factor in the battle to win cross-border buyers. Cross-border trade now makes up about 22 percent of eBay’s total transactions.
The “ship first, sell later” model enables Chinese sellers to compete with overseas competitors by improving delivery efficiency and saving logistics cost.
