Yihaodian.com joins in public souring e-platform

SHANGHAI-BASED e-commerce website Yihaodian.com said it has joined hands with public procurement agencies and industry associations to tap the growing public procurement market.

Yihaodian will become an authorized supplier for the e-commerce sourcing platform built by China Public Procurement Limited to expand its market share in terms of corporate purchasing.

China Public Procurement Limited is an authorized provider and operator of the country’s public procurement e-platform and has been working with JD.com as well to allow e-commerce merchants to sell to government agencies and institutions.

Guo Dongdong, vice president of Yihaodian, said the company hopes to offer its capability in terms of consumer goods inventory management to state-backed procurement bodies.

Vice president Peng Xinliang of China Public Procurement Limited said that introducing e-commerce suppliers to the procurement platform allows easier price comparison and will expand the product categories available for sourcing.

Yihaodian didn't reveal the potential sales to be gained from the teaming-up, but added it will keep upgrading its technology capability to serve both individual and corporate consumers.
