iFlytek puts AI in services

SHENZHEN-LISTED iFlytek Co yesterday launched new voice recognition and real-time translation service and devices with artificial intelligence technology as it targets opportunities that similar services offered by Google couldn’t tap.

The new service supports multiple languages including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Uygur, and boasts an accuracy rate of over 98 percent, said iFlytek’s Chairman Liu Qingfeng.

The AI technology makes iFlytek’s service smarter and more practical, which can be used in government bureaus like court records and media interviews, said Liu.

The company’s services are used in mobile devices and Internet applications with users including China Mobile.

Shares of iFlytek fell 1.05 percent to 30.20 yuan (US$4.37) in Shenzhen yesterday.
