Construction equipment maker sees rosy future
SWEDEN-BASED Volvo Construction Equipment, which makes excavators and haulers, expects better China market conditions in the second half due to the government stimulus plan.
The company aims to sell 3,000 to 4,000 units in China this year, Eberhard Wedekind, its Asia Pacific president, said late on Thursday.
It said its annual sales had risen 35 percent in China in the past four years.
The company is confident about the market as the government's stimulus package, which focuses on housing, rural infrastructure and transportation, is offering new commercial and development opportunities, Wedekind said after launching a 150 million yuan (US$21.95 million) test and technology support center in Shanghai.
"China will continue to dominate the world's construction equipment market," he said at the launch.
