Flex opens hub on new tech R&D
FLEX, the world’s No. 2 made-to-order manufacturer, yesterday opened a new research and development center in Shanghai to research self-driving and other technologies like 5G and the Internet of Things.
The 9,427-square-meter Flex Shanghai Design and Innovation Center, located in the Pudong New Area, houses 19 design and engineering labs for audio & acoustics, augmented reality, virtual reality, human machine interface and imaging optics and automotive electronics.
Flex has signed a cooperation agreement with Baidu for the center to research on self-driving, Shanghai Daily learned.
Flex’s clients are involved in the automotive, consumer, industrial and communications industries. The company is second to Foxconn in the made-to-order manufacturing industry.
