Siemens bullish

GERMANY'S Siemens expects China's medical equipment market to grow at least 15 percent annually amid government drive to improve healthcare. The company yesterday broke ground for a new facility to produce X-ray products at the R&D and manufacturing hub of its healthcare unit in Shanghai. The new facility will cost over 100 million yuan (US$15.74 million), and mainly supply products to China's smaller county-level hospitals.
