WPP expects China revenue to grow 10%
WPP expects its revenue in China to grow 10 percent this year to US$1.5 billion, faster than its global growth target, chief executive officer Martin Sorrell said.
The company will also keep an eye on fueling growth through local acquisitions, he told Shanghai Daily at the sidelines of an industry conference today.
WPP, the world's largest advertising company and owner of agencies Ogilvy & Mather and JWT, saw global revenue grow 2.1 percent last year.
China is WPP's third largest market in terms of revenue, behind the US and UK.
New media will be a key strategy for the group as Sorrell expects income from the sector to account for 35 to 40 percent of its overall sales in five years.
Currently about 20 percent of income in China is coming from digital businesses.
Last month, WPP said it had acquired Chinese automotive market research company Sinotrust Market Research.
