Sales Of Villas Climb As Rally Extends
SALES of villas, which include stand-alone ones, semi-detached houses and townhouses, continued to climb in Shanghai last month, extending a rally for six consecutive months.
A total of 1,699 villas, or 427,000 square meters, were sold across the city last month, an increase of 113 units, or 37,000 square meters, against June, E-House (China) Holdings Ltd, a real estate services provider, said yesterday.
Meanwhile, the average transaction price for villas fell 7.7 percent from a month earlier to 19,251 yuan (US$2,818) per square meter, due to increased sales of semi-detached houses and townhouses.
Villas ranging from 160 to 280 square meters accounted for more than 70 percent of total deals done last month, E-House data showed.
