Air China’s biggest VIP lounge
AIR China yesterday opened the nation’s biggest VIP lounge for international travelers at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport even as the number of Chinese business travelers flying abroad has fallen slightly.
The 3,400-square-meter two-story lounge at Terminal 2 of the airport is open to the airline’s first-class, business-class and golden card passengers as well as members of other Star Alliance airlines around the clock. The lounge can serve a total of 600 passengers.
The nation’s flagship airline unveiled the new lounge despite a slight drop in business travelers, said Long Qiang, director of Air China’s service division. She said the airline hopes that passengers of other Star Alliance carriers may fly with Air China in future after they experience the services available in the new lounge. Air China plans to build a total of 30 new VIP lounges in other airports across the country.
