Airbus sees growth for 20 years in China
CHINA'S aviation market will see an annual increase of 7.9 percent in the next 20 years, becoming the world's second-fastest growing market after India, Airbus SAS, the world's largest maker of commercial aircraft, said in a report.
India's aviation market is forecast to have 10 percent growth annually over the next two decades, according to the report.
A total of 25,000 new planes worth US$3.1 trillion will be delivered between 2009 and 2028 in the global airline market, the report said.
The report also said emerging economies, airline expansion and fleet replacement will drive demand for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly airplanes.
Asia Pacific, including China and India, is forecast to account for 31 percent of demand, followed by Europe at 25 percent and North America at 10 percent over the next two decades, the report said.
Airbus predicted the world's aviation market will decline 2 percent in 2009 and increase 4.6 percent next year amid a gradual economic recovery.
In August, China's total air traffic turnover rose 7.4 percent month on month and 30.6 percent on year.
