Aircraft maintenance
ST Aerospace has reached an agreement with Guangdong Airport Management Corp to set up a US$99 million joint venture to maintain commercial aircraft.
The Singapore-based company will own a 49 percent stake in the commercial aircraft heavy maintenance facility in Guangzhou and Guangdong Airport will hold the balance.
The facility will cover 147,000 square meters in the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and is expected to begin operations in two years after gaining approval from the Chinese government.
ST Aerospace (Guangzhou) Aviation Services will be adequate for two hangars with each hangar able to accommodate two wide-body aircraft.
