Lufthansa plans
LUFTHANSA will introduce an A380 jet linking Beijing with Frankfurt starting August 26.
The European carrier will run three flights a week on the route at first, and another A380 jet will join the fleet around October, when daily flights will begin, said Frank Bornemann, marketing manager of Lufthansa China.
The A380 jets, which can hold 526 passengers, will replace Boeing737-400 jets which serve the Beijing route at present.
To attract more premium passengers from the Chinese market, the carrier will join hands with Portman Ritz-Carlton Shanghai to offer exclusive culinary meals on board for first-class and business-class passengers flying between Europe and China starting tomorrow.
