CHINA Eastern Airlines Corp expects to carry 50 percent more passengers this year following the acquisition of Shanghai Airlines Co and as the World Expo spurred travel.
Passenger traffic will reach 66 million this year, Chairman Liu Shaoyong said. The airline carried 44 million passengers in 2009.
Liu made the remarks on late Monday at an event to announce the number of members under the airline's Eastern Miles frequent flyer program has exceeded 10 million.
