SHANGHAI Pudong International Airport is rated one of the world's top 10 airports by customer satisfaction, the airport operator said yesterday.
A recent survey of customer satisfaction by the Airport Council International ranked Pudong Airport sixth among 146 global airports in the second quarter of this year.
In the first quarter, Pudong Airport ranked 11th. The city's main international flight gateway ranked 63th in 2007 when it joined the ACI.
In July, Shanghai's two civil airports handled 7.04 million passengers, a 38 percent jump from a year ago. The Pudong airport handled 3.92 million, and Hongqiao International Airport saw nearly 3.12 million journeys.
Their combined cargo volume totaled 330,000 tons in July, a 28.6 percent rise year on year.
