Airport building renovation

WORK will start next week to renovate Terminal 1 building of Xiaoshan International Airport. A traffic pressure test was conducted on Wednesday — 5:30-6:30am and 6-7pm — to optimize the renovation plan and ensure traffic safety and smoothness.

Currently, 28,000 to 35,000 vehicles go to Terminal 1 every day.

During the pressure test, Gate 5, 7 and 9 on the departure level will be closed and the eight-lane elevated road in front of the T1 building will be narrowed to five lanes.

From Monday, Gate 5, 7 and 9 will be closed for renovation. Travelers taking international flights or Air China’s domestic flights should enter the T1 building through Gate 1 and 3. Others can enter through Gate 11 and 13.

The renovation project will last for a year till July 2018, officials said.
