China-UK industrial park
THE Xiaoshan District government signed an agreement with Hongkong Land Holdings and Transfar Group last week for cooperation to develop the China-UK Industrial Park.
Hongkong Land is owned by Jardine Matheson Holdings, a British conglomerate incorporated in Bermuda. The park project came after the UK Prime Minister Theresa May made the pledge to cooperate with China in the Belt and Road Initiative as she attended the G20 Summit in Hangzhou last September.
Apart from the park, the three partners also will undertake numerous projects in finance, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and foreign trade.
The China-UK Industrial Park will become a new landmark in Xiaoshan with billions of yuan invested in artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, finance, education, and health care sectors.
