E-commerce focus
HANGZHOU will promote e-commerce and smart technologies in the next three years, the municipal government said last week after its first meeting of 2015.
The city has listed the development of e-commerce and smart technologies as its top priority in 2015, Party Secretary Gong Zheng said at the meeting.
The city will launch 27 incentive policies to attract skilled professionals from around the world, assuring them of permanent residency, medical insurance, housing, education, and other welfare benefits that locals receive, he said.
Yu Jun, an official in charge of public transport, said they have launched a mobile application to let people check bus, subway, train and airline services, find available parking spaces, and get information about car repair shops and driving schools. The mobile app runs on a platform that links with 32,360 buses and ferries and 14,221 surveillance cameras citywide.
Participants in the meeting were also told that free Wi-Fi service will cover Chun’an County by the end of this year and a 3-square-kilometer industrial park for Internet firms will be set up in the city’s Wangjiang area.
Other government tasks for the year include adding credit information on the Hangzhou Citizen Card and creating an online financial services platform to provide loans and other services.
