Emergency landing
Shortly after take-off, tire fragments were reportedly found on the runway used by Shenzhen Airlines flight ZH9753. This discovery led Li Jian, deputy director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, to order the flight to land at Hongqiao, instead of Xiaoshan International Airport in Hangzhou.
At the time of the incident, security measures had been tightened at Xiaoshan, where several Chinese and foreign dignitaries were set to board planes after attending the World Internet Conference in nearby Wuzhen.
After landing, airport crew found a tear in a tire on the plane’s left landing gear. The CAAC is still investigating the case, the report said.
