Hangzhou Tourism Commission provides 51 packages as part of the “Hangzhou Outdoor LeisureSeason” program. Shanghai Daily highlights some below:

• Tulip Flower Show

Date: Through March 31

Venue: Taiziwan Park

Over 50 varieties and about 500,000 plants and flowers such as tulips and hyacinth are shown. More than 13,000 tubs of other flowers and 200 foliage plants are on display as well.

• West Lake Flowers Music Season

Date: Sunday afternoon during March-May and April 7, May 3, 1:30-6pm

Venue: The lawn, Xihu Tiandi

All the shows are nonprofit. You can get free tickets by following the WeChat account “hzsjxx.” There are 10 performances, and each have two bands.

• 2014 Hangzhou Xixi Flower Festival

Date: March 30-May 11

Venue: Xixi National Wetland Park/Green Causeway/Xixi Paradise

The festival consists of five themed activities: love and romance, family and childhood, culture and creativity, marriage, and health.

• Chao Mountain Fruit Festival

Date: Late April-October

Venue: Chao Mountain scenic area

This summer, you can go to Chao Mountain scenic district to pick green plums, red bayberries, loquats and grapes.

• Spring Festival

Date: April 12-13

Venue: Tongzhou Island, Xintong Village, Fuyang

There will be various activities including camping, picnic, enjoying cole flowers, orienteering and a treasure hunt, family relay race, bonfire party, farming experience, barbecue, photography and painting competition, a farm stay, cycling, etc.

• Fuyang 1st Ecological Farming Experience Activity

Date: May

Venue: Fuyang Ecological Leisure Area

Enjoy the fun of living, work, and entertainment in an ecological area.

• Where Are We Going, Dad? — Xinsha Island Picnic and Camping Trip

Date: March-May

Venue: Xinsha Island

Based on the popular TV program “Dad, Where Are We Going,” dads are encouraged to bring their kids together to experience life and nature by finding food ingredients, cooking and camping on their own.
