High-speed in June

THE Hangzhou-Nanjing and Hangzhou-Ningbo high-speed railways will go into service by the end of June, said Lu Chunfang, deputy general manager of China Railway Corp, during a recent inspection of the two projects.

A train will make a test run from Ningbo to Nanjing via Hangzhou between May 21 and 23. Afterwards, more trains will run on the new lines with a speed limit of 300 kilometers per hour in a trial operation before June 23. It will take about one hour to travel between Hangzhou and Nanjing, railway officials said.
