Line 2 details

THE second phase of Metro Line 2 will total 12.8 kilometers with nine stations, according to a plan revealed by the Metro operator on its website, www.hzmetro.com.

The extension is expected to go into operation in 2018 with service hours from 5am to 11pm. It will connect with Metro Line 5 at Sanbacun Station and Metro Line 4 at Jindu Road N. Station.

According to the official blueprint, Metro Line 2 will eventually extend to Anji City, northwest of Hangzhou.
Meanwhile, construction has started on Wenhai Road S. Station for an extension of Metro Line 1. Two other stations on the extension line are already under construction.

The north-south extension runs 5.4 kilometers from Wenhai Road S. Station to Yunshui Station and Xiasha Jiangbin Station.

Tunneling for the subway extension will begin in the second half of this year, and the whole project will be completed in 2016, according to the Hangzhou Metro Group.

Metro Line 1 went into operation last November.
