Loans to students
HANGZHOU has offered loans totaling 620 million yuan (US$95 million) in the past three years to help college students start their own businesses as part of efforts to boost youth employment.
The city offered the loans to 2,478 students and helped 20,000 people get employed. The college students usually start their own businesses in information technology, retail trade, culture and innovation, development and manufacturing, training and consultation or services.
According to a survey conducted by Hangzhou Youth League, 49.4 percent of college students who set up their own companies said that their businesses had financial difficulties.
