Metro link rolls out

THE extension of Metro Line 1 to Xiasha Town will start operating by the end of the year. The 5.45-kilometer extension has three stations along the Metro line: Wenhai Road S. Station, Yunshui Station and Xiashajiangbin Station. There are dozens of colleges with more than 100,000 students along the extension, and a large residential area is under construction nearby.
For the northwest extension of Metro Line 2, the main structures of three stations, including Qingchun Square Station, Qingling Station and Fengtan Station, have been completed. Construction of the other eight stations along the 11.8km line is still underway. The extension is expected to be open to traffic in 2018.
