New cultural center
Disused factories in Shuangpu Town will be remodeled as a cultural and art center for Chinese and South Korean artists. The center will host concerts and be used to shoot films and TV dramas, officials said last week.
Xihu District officials have signed an agreement with the South Korean Association of Entrepreneurs in Cultural and Creative Industries and another investor to jointly develop the Sino-Korean Culture and Art Park.
Officials said the factories in the town have been closed for some time for environmental reasons.
The new park, scheduled to open next year, will have a 4D theater, film and TV production facilities, as well as offices for cultural and creative companies. The theater will present performances by South Korean artists every month.
