Noise ban for exams

Hangzhou will ban noisy construction work, the use of loudspeakers, ship sirens and the honks of vehicle as well as firecrackers during the days when students sit for examinations.

From April 9 to 11, June 7 to 9 and June 18 to 19, the noise ban will be strictly enforced in areas around the examination grounds, from 30 minutes before the exams start until the exams are over.

The new measure is to ensure students sitting for college entrance exams, middle school and high school graduation exams, and English listening tests will have a quiet and peaceful environment to do the test.

Construction sites will be ordered to suspend night work from June 1 to June 9 and from June 13 to June 19. People can call 12369 or 110 to make a complaint.
