Pilot whales arrive
TWO pilot whales from Japan recently arrived at their new home — Hangzhou Polar Ocean Park.
Both of the whales, a male and a female, are six years old and weigh about 600 kilograms.
The park had to use a crane and steel cables to move the two giants into their residence.
It is the first time in China that an ocean park has introduced pilot whales. Pilot whales, like orcas, are a member of the dolphin family and eat fish, seals and penguins.
