National authorities recommended 12 animated movies made in Hangzhou for screening on television across the country last year, making Hangzhou the top supplier of animated cartoons.
Shanghai and Beijing ranked second and third, each with eight and six cartoon movies selected, respectively.
The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television recommends high-quality animated movies every year for TV screening across the country as an incentive for the animation industry.
The 12 animated movies were made by seven companies in Hangzhou. Hangzhou A.U Cultural Creativity Co Ltd had three works selected, the most among its peers in the country.
