Station face-lift
TRAVELERS are advised to go to Hangzhou Railway Station much earlier than usual over the next three months due to a face-lift project in the area.
Four roads around the station will be affected, officials said. The project will replace old pavement tiles, replant trees and shrubs, remove some parking spaces and refurbish the station’s two giant clocks. The station was last revamped in 2000.
Jiangcheng Road, Huancheng Road E., Youyi Road and Xihu Avenue will be affected as authorities plan to build two escalators in front of Honglou Hotel and Xihu Hotel to access the upper level of the railway station. The project is scheduled to be completed before Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on February 19.
