HANGZHOU East Railway Station will open in the first half of next year, and Hangzhou-Ningbo and Hangzhou-Nanjing passenger services will begin at the same time, Hangzhou Railway Investment Co said recently.
As the station is now in the furnishing and decoration phase, the platform for Metro Line 1 cannot be used until the project is complete next year. The new station will have 1,200 parking spaces for taxies and a terminal for 11 bus lines going to many parts of the city.
Currently, Hangzhou has two stations, Hangzhou Railway Station for Hangzhou-Shanghai bullet trains and Hangzhou South Railway Station in Xiaoshan District.
