Traffic control

HANGZHOU will enforce traffic control in the West Lake area on weekends and public holidays starting on January 1. Cars must travel on an odd or even date in the restricted area based on the last digit of the license plate. Polluting vehicles will be banned from entering the area and drivers are advised to stop the engine if they plan to park for more than three minutes.

Traffic control in the restricted area is from 8:30am to 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and all public holidays.

Police vehicles, ambulances, fire engines and engineering trucks will not be affected by the new rule.

The restricted area is bounded by Beishan Street, Huangcheng Road, Hubin Road, Nanshan Road, Yuhuangshan Road, Nanfu Road, Fenghuangshan Road, Hupao Road, Zhijiang Road, Meiling Road, Tianzhu Road, Lingyin Road, Lingxi Road, Yugu Road and Yuquan Road. Certain sections of the roads are open to vehicles.
