Truck catches fire

A FIREFIGHTING tanker truck extinguished a truck that was ablaze on Hangzhou-Quzhou Expressway near the Yiwu exit last week.
The truck was carrying 33 tons of sodium hydrosulfite and the driver didn’t have a permit to transport the dangerous chemical. The driver was en route from Changsha, Hunan Province, to Shaoxing in Zhejiang Province. The highway section between Quzhou and Yiwu was closed for 16 hours and authorities shut down a dam on a nearby river to prevent the chemical from getting into a downstream reservoir.
