Turtles return sea
TWO sea turtles were released by Hangzhou fishing authorities and an animal rescue center in Ningbo on Tuesday.
Officials transported the turtles in containers filled with sea water to ensure the reptiles maintained their moisture levels. They were released at Dongyushan area from a State Oceanic Administration yacht.
The larger turtles weighed 75 kilograms and the smaller one 3 kilograms. Both are second-grade protected animals in China.
In the past three years, Hangzhou residents have rescued three Yangtze River dolphins, two turtles and more than 60 Songjiang perch.
