Tianshan Cinema gone, but not forgotten

HONGQIAO Art Center is built on the site of the former Tianshan Cinema.
After two years of construction, the cinema opened to the public on October 1, 1979 on 888 Tianshan Road. For many years, it was the most advanced cinema in the western portion of Shanghai and a popular destination for love birds.
The cinema served the public until May 2012. It was demolished in September of that year.
After word spread that the cinema would close, many people flocked to the scene to photograph the building where they had forged so many happy memories.
