A SIGNING ceremony celebrating 28 enterprises settling in Shanghai Culture and Information Industry Park in Jiading New City was held on April 18. Covering an area of 40 hectares, the total building area of the park is about 500,000 square meters.
E-biz arrival
Yemai (Shanghai) Trade Co Ltd, the first foreign culture and information enterprise in Jiading, settled at Shanghai International Information Service Industry Park recently. With a total investment of US$2 million, its business covers commodity trade and development of e-business technology and software.
More flowers
Wintersweet Park at Waigang Town in Jiading recently introduced more varieties of the flowering plants and created new species by grafting. It is being built into a scenic spot featuring recreational and ecological elements. The park has 200,000 trees of 80 different species.
Early grapes
Grapes that were only available at Malu Grape Park will soon appear at the farmers' garden in Jiading. They will be on the market in early July, half a month earlier than usual. Planting adjustments at Malu Town affected 23.33 hectares of grape fields run by more than 200 farmers, involving eight species.
Visitors up
Shanghai Yakult Co Ltd (Jiading factory) has celebrated its number of visitors to the factory hitting 200,000. A hot spot for industrial tourism and scientific education, its visitors are mainly children from kindergartens, elementary and middle schools.
Book network
Libraries at Xuhang Town, Waigang Town and Jiading Industrious Zone entered Shanghai Library's network recently, making it easier for residents with a reader's card to access services.

Jiading bamboo carving successfully registered a trademark recently, becoming the area's first national intangible culture heritage with its own trademark.
