A man and his mynah, inseparable friends
A MYNAH bird follows its 70-year-old master wherever he goes in Nanxiang Town. It flies at times but also perches on his hat.
"I never tie it and it won't fly away," said Wang Lanbao, the bird's owner. "I take it outside for a walk every day."
With shining black feathers, the mynah always attracts a big crowd.
Wang said the mynah was a present from a friend and he had been breeding it for more than two years.
"It was caged at first and I let it free but it wouldn't fly away. Gradually I took the habit of walking with it," Wang said.
"One day a man offered me 10,000 yuan (US$1,464) for the bird, but I refused without hesitation. It has really added a lot of fun to my retirement."
