Art is more than just pretty pictures

IN recent years, more and more art zones have emerged in Shanghai ?? 1933-Shanghai, Tianzifang, M50, the Bridge8.
Most of them have been transformed from disused factory buildings by artists and now are popular attractions for young people.
In Jiading, there are many art zones deserving a visit. The Shanghai Feicheng Art Zone is one of the first art zones permitted by the Jiading government. The construction began in April 2007 and more than 15 million yuan (US$2.2 million) has been invested. Here visitors can see many wonders and ancient paintings. It often holds exhibitions of painting and stamp collections. There is also a museum of Buddha sculptures with hundreds of pieces in various shapes and forms.
Xuhang Town in Jiading is the cradle of straw art and enjoys a long history. Walking in the Xuhang Creative Zone of Straw Art, visitors can not only buy straw art works, but appreciate the masterpieces of Ji Xuecheng, a famous straw artist. Visitors can also witness live the magic process that turns simple straws into art works.
Shanghai Xinzeyuan Art Zone is located in the southern side of Caoan Road, which comprises a bonsai area, a landscape and garden area and a village for painters. More than 200 groups and individuals have settled in the area. People from far and wide are fond of visiting here on the weekends and during holidays to relax themselves and enjoy the country life.
How to get there:
Shanghai Feicheng Art Zone:
Visitors could drive through Hujia Highway and out from Jiading Town exit, then turn to Huyi Road and drive to the west to 4532 Huyi Road.
Visitors could take Jiaqian Line in Jiading Passenger Transport Center and get off at Xinsheng Road stop.
Xuhang Creative Zone of Straw Art:
Visitors could drive through Hujia Highway and out from Jiading Town exit, turn to Jiajian Road and drive to the east, then turn to Dengliu Road and arrive at 147 Dengliu Road.
Visitors could take Jialiu Line in Jiading Passenger Transport Center and get off at the creative zone stop.
Shanghai Xinzeyuan Art Zone:
Visitors could drive through the Outer-Ring Road and out from the Cao'an Road exit and arrive at 3058 Cao'an Road.
Visitors could take Bei'an Line, Bus No. 860, Travel Line 6B, Nanjia Line and Jiajiang Line and get off at No.10 Bridge.
