Blueprint for district鈥檚 medical industry
JIADING has mapped out its blueprint to develop high-end medical industry in the next five years.
Advanced medical equipment and precision medical treatment are two key aspects, according to Jiading’s 13th five-year plan.
The future industry layout involves human resources, technology and know-how protection, research and development.
Jiading is an important base for the medical industry in Shanghai. Its future development will focus on digital medical imaging, minimally invasive surgery and implantable medical devices.
Shanghai Ruijin Hospital launched its tumor (proton) treatment center in Jiading new City. The center is equipped with the first domestic proton treatment device, which is co-developed by Shanghai United Investment Co, the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics and Ruijin Hospital. It is expected to go into clinical operation in 2018.
The national Liver Cancer Scientific Center also settles down in Jiading. Its six laboratories feature diagnostic marker screening, etiology analysis, molecular network regulation, drug target R&D, and cell therapy. The center also owns three assisted R&D platforms major in resource preservation, data link application and pilot scale test.
At the same time, the China Stem Cell group will build its new blood disease hospital in Jiading, which will be one of the largest in the world.
Jiading-based Shanghai United-Imaging Medical Technology Co Ltd has set up a medical imaging technological research center with Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The center developed medical imaging technologies with its own intellectual property rights.
