Car fans flock to Auto Culture Festival in Jiading

ON April 7, the annual Shanghai Auto Culture Festival will return to the Shanghai International Circuit.
The festival will focus on the Formula One Chinese Grand Prix, holding four major events over the month.
The festival will also feature several cultural and tourism activities to promote Jiading and add a touch of the district’s springtime charm to the excitement of the track.
Whether you’re an auto fanatic or just looking to get outdoors for the spring, head to Jiading and check out the events. Here are a few of the festival’s highlights.
We all know about this year’s main event, the F1 Grand Prix, but there are other competitions for fans to enjoy as well.
They include the Clio Cup China Series, the GT Master Cup and the Vanguard Series and LPM3.
The Shanghai International Circuit’s Waterscape Square is sure to be one of the festival’s hotspots.
During the F1 Grand Prix, it will be staging a variety of exciting, interactive events, including an exhibition of Jiading-based EVCard smart cars.
Visitors can experience the future of transport with ride-sharing technology — a greener, smarter and cheaper way to get around.
Car industry representatives from related sectors have also been invited to show off new products, services and recent technological developments.
A series of activities, promoting the sights and sounds of Jiading District, will be held at the Jiading Tourism Booth. Besides funny interactive games, visitors can also get free tourism map of Jiading as well as tourism information.
The Chinese Traditional Culture Exhibition is likely to be another point of interest. Activities include a tea ceremony, performances with traditional costumes, colorful flower arrangements and drum performances.
Masters of auto-body painting and calligraphy will be showing off their art, putting ancient art forms onto contemporary canvasses.
This three-day event will be sure to give a new-found appreciation for Chinese culture.
The year’s events are not limited to the Shanghai International Circuit. With a six-month exhibit for Ferrari’s 70th anniversary set to open at the end of April, the Shanghai Auto Museum will also be a major point of attraction at this year’s festival, and will feature several of Ferrari’s classic and limited-edition models.
The Alashan SEE Fund has also been invited to Anting Life Hub for an interactive art exhibition, combining tourism, art and public welfare into an organic whole.
The Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center will also host the Shanghai International RT and RV Camping Expo, the city’s largest RV exhibition.
A variety of recreational vehicles, camping equipment and other resources will be on display.
There is so much to do at this year’s Shanghai Auto Culture Festival, and the timing is impeccable — Shanghai’s famous Guyi Garden will be in full bloom during the first week of April, bringing Jiading to life with a collage of peonies.
Racing fans, cultural enthusiasts and nature lovers alike have every reason to get out next month and enjoy what beautiful Jiading has to offer.
It has been a long winter, treat yourself to some springtime fun.
