Contest finds the new breed of business entrepreneur

A Jiading company has beaten 38 teams from more than 2,000 enterprises to claim top prize at the 2014 Creative China Spring Final.
The event, in its second year, was organized by cyzone.cn and the Jiading government.
The winner was Shanghai Skytex Fashion Technology Co Ltd, which uses the Internet and big data to connect clients and provide them with customized services in the traditional textile industry. Skytex is listed on the Shanghai Equity Exchange.
During the competition, entrants had just six minutes to introduce their business projects and answer questions from a judging panel comprised of entrepreneurs and academics.
Business people from Tencent, Amazon and Kaixinmahua shared their experiences and their opinions on industrial development.
Of the 39 teams in the final, seven were from Jiading, almost double the number of last year.
More than 200 Jiading enterprises attended to observe the contest, and most of them were investment institutions.
‘Overturning the tradition’
The competition focused on “overturning the traditional mode of industry,” according to the organizing committee.
Shanghai Shenzhuo Advertisement and Media Company took part in the competition with its outdoor media integration platform.
Wu Ming, deputy general manager of the company, said it was hard to search for resources around the country, but that difficulty provided an opportunity.
“It’s just like the shopping mall has changed people’s shopping habit in general stores,” Wu said. “What we wanted to make was an online supermarket of outdoor media resources. Through our B2B platform, we can provide complete information of outdoor media for our clients.”
Shenzhuo has collected information on more than 30,000 outdoor media sites in 32 provincial capital cities.
