Disposable income rises

THE per capita disposable income of rural households in Jiading District reached 12,600 yuan (US$1,843), up 10 percent from a year earlier, while that of the urban households amounted to 22,200 yuan, a 12.5 percent year-on-year increase.
The district created 46,459 jobs last year and transferred 11,255 surplus laborers in rural areas to non-agricultural industries.
A villager surnamed Zhou in Xuhang Town earned more than 1,000 yuan per month after finding a new job. He said life had become much easier with the additional earnings.
The monthly urban minimum living allowance increased from 350 yuan to 400 yuan per person in the district. The minimum monthly salary was adjusted from 840 yuan to 960 yuan. The minimum hourly salary was increased from 7.5 yuan to 8 yuan.
