Holiday brings on festivals
WITH the National Day approaching, Jiading is becoming more and more exciting - Shanghai Confucius Culture Week began on September 22; Shanghai Nanxiang Xiaolong Festival 2009 started on September 25; and Temple Fair of Taiwan Products will open tomorrow.
The Shanghai Confucius Cultural Week includes four sections - Manners, Education, Culture and Harmony.
Thirteen various activities such as stage plays, cultural lectures and calligraphy exhibitions will take place every day during the week.
As a traditional event, the Shanghai Nanxiang Xiaolong Festival 2009 keeps its theme of "Xiaolong (steamed buns) makes life delicious."
This festival will last for 14 days, including a series of activities including a photography exhibition, traditional opera and the 2009 Nanxiang Investment Forum.
The Temple Fair for Taiwan Products will take place from tomorrow to October 5 in the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center.
This time, the fair will be part of the Shanghai Shopping Festival, exhibiting and supplying fashion products, daily used articles and delicious food from both Taiwan and Chinese mainland.
In addition, a popular science cartoon carnival will also open for the youngsters.
