THE new Jiading Library is scheduled to open in May.
As the library is adjacent to the Yuanxiang Lake, readers will be able to enjoy beautiful views of the lake while reading their favorite books.
The library features a traditional jiangnan courtyard style with gray tiles on the roof, while its glass walls make it fashionable.
With a construction area of about 8,482 square meters, the library has 600,000 books in eight divisions, including car culture, education, music appreciation, industrial technology, art of calligraphy and painting, economics, fashion and braille.
The library also provides an e-reading room, children's reading room, a hall which can accommodate more than 500 people and a multi-functional room with over 200 seats.
Readers can borrow or return the books with a library card. The library is covered with Wifi, so the readers can use their smart phones and tablets.
It also includes a 24 hour self-service reading room with about 30,000 books.
