Local products support Expo effort
PRODUCTS "made in Jiading" are serving World Expo 2010 Shanghai with science, technology and speed.
Enterprises in Jiading have actively participated in pavilion construction at the Expo site for the past several years. They have also been enterprising in providing necessary products.
An electricity management system produced by Shanghai Acrel Ltd is being used at the Expo site.
"The system can monitor power usage peak periods to avoid energy wastage," said Lu Ming, system integration department manager at Shanghai Acrel Ltd.
"When necessary, we can reset it and deal with outages using remote technology."
Also, 500 power energy quality analysis meters produced by Acrel have been installed at more than 10 locations at the Expo Park.
Tianling Switchgear won the bid in 2008 from 20-odd enterprises to provide switchgears for nine transformer substations at the Expo Axis.
Chen Dehan, the company's assistant sales general manager, said the company was proud to get the project.
"We should not only make it a good project, but also benefit from an enhanced reputation," Chen said.
Tianling has also assigned two engineers to the Expo site until the end of the Expo. If there is equipment failure, they can solve the problem as soon as possible.
