Microblog methods used to spread safety

JIADING Public Security Bureau is applying Internet vocabulary and folk proverbs on its microblog (Chinese equivalent of Twitter) to remind residents of safety risks in old apartments and has achieved effective results.
The district's Public Security Bureau has already boasted more than 110,000 followers for its microblog. Their Internet-style notices are quite popular among web users.
A reproduced entry about precautionary suggestions during the May Day holidays on the website of Jiaxin neighborhood committee in Juyuan New Area has received high clicks.
Jiading resident Pang Haiyan appreciated the new wording with Internet vocabulary popular among adults and children instead of the previous stiff slogans.
In recent years, the district's safety precaution advice has developed from stiff slogans and banners to posters and microblog entries.
Jiading Meteorological Bureau joins the district's educational departments to include local agricultural proverbs and old songs in nature study textbooks for primary schools. They have already promoted the textbooks in the district's four schools.
Shi Wuyi, director of Jiading Meteorological Bureau, said that they are organizing people to collect local agricultural proverbs and will incorporate them into meteorological textbooks after systematic arrangement and scientific approval in a bid to enrich students' common sense.
