Dengta Village has been named as a model village in a national 鈥淥ne Village One Product鈥 campaign, becoming one of 18 such model villages in Shanghai. Strawberry planting is the village鈥檚 pillar industry with revenue of nearly 30 million yuan (US$4.84 million) in 2013. The villagers planted strawberries on a land the size of 100 soccer fields and harvested 1,500 tons of strawberries.
