No limit on electric car subsidy quota for buyers
THERE will be no limit on the subsidy quota for new energy car buyers in Jiading District, according to local authorities.
The Shanghai government has required Jiading and Minhang districts as well as Pudong New Area to make regional subsidy plans for new energy car buyers.
The regional subsidy will be different from the state and municipal levels which directly deduct the car price. Instead, the regional subsidy will be presented after purchase.
Staff with the Jiading Economy and Information Technology Commission said that the buyers of new energy vehicles who live or work in Jiading will enjoy the regional subsidy.
Subsidy amount
The amount of subsidy will total 15,000 yuan (US$2,449) on electric costs in two years. Although there is no quota limit, there is a deadline — the validity of this policy will expire on December 31.
Shanghai has announced a plan to put 13,000 new energy vehicles into market by 2015, including 9,500 passenger cars, 1,400 buses and 2,100 vehicles for specific uses.
Meanwhile, the city will build about 1,800 charging points by 2014 and about 4,200 by 2015.
Local car sellers say buyers of some popular models such as the Roewe 550 Plug-in can get the car two or three weeks after signing the contract and a free car plate one week later.
