Yang Qingquan, 47, became Jiading’s first successful organ donor and saved three lives.
Yang was declared brain dead at Jiading Central Hospital on December 15, and his wife gave permission for his organs to be used to help others. Experts from Shanghai Red Cross, Shanghai Organ Transplant Center and Changzheng Hospital arranged for the body to be sent to Changzheng Hospital. Three lives of transplant patients were saved by receiving Yang’s kidneys and liver. His cornea are still waiting for transplant.
