SANDVIK Mining & Construction has recently opened its South Asian Research Center. The facility will be used for introducing concepts of advanced engineering technology and design, and for developing products that cater to Chinese market.
Clean, green
Xi'an Kaimi Stock Co Ltd signed a contract with Xuhang Town to invest about 600 million yuan (US$89.4 million) to produce environmentally friendly cleaning agents. Kaimi is a state-level, high-technology company specializing in research and development of cleaning agents.
Tourism effort
The Jiading District is cooperating with officials in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, and Changxing County, Zhejiang Province, to jointly develop their tourism industries.
New firm
The Huajiang Road branch of Oriental Securities Co Ltd began trial operations on September 5. It is the company's 59th branch in China. The latest arm, housed in an office space of 2,000 square meters, can handle the accounts of more than 200 clients.
Production line
Koshigaya (Shanghai) Co Ltd has put its KD-55 machine into production. The new production line involves an investment of more than 6 million yuan (US$895,000) and is one of the most advanced of its kind. Annual production volume of coloring agents is expected to be 2,000 tons.

Anting Town is planning to develop a new 2.2-square-meter zone specializing in low-carbon, green technologies, with an emphasis on the auto industry. The project will comprise seven components: a business office area, an international medical and educational area, environmentally friendly residences, a commercial support area, an auto research and development zone, a park and a recreation area.
