Shopping is fun, fast and cheaper online

"I ordered an iPad through www.newegg.com on January 7, and 15 minutes later, it was delivered to my door at a price 200 yuan (US$30) lower than in the shops," said Yan Ming, a young worker in Jiading. "I am so excited about all this."
During the first half year of 2010, as the Storage and Logistics Center of Newegg in Jiading was put into operation, Newegg came out as a first e-commence company with logistics center in China, which helped it become one of the hottest e-commerce sites in China, and its list of fans in Jiading is growing.
Jiading shoppers who use the site invariably rave about the speed and efficiency of delivery. Users can typically receive products they order within 24 hours. Or they can also pick up products at the Newegg warehouse within hours after an order is placed.
"We have thousands of storage shelves with various products, ready to send out or be picked up," explained Pei Qing, a manager at Newegg.
Located at 99 Huifa Road in Jiading Industrial Zone, the online company maintains a vast inventory, a private delivery system and efficient staff to process orders. Nowadays, Newegg has eight warehouses across China.
Wang Yanhong, who lives in Qingshui Yiyuan residential area, is a recent convert to Newegg. She was planning to purchase a new laptop, but she hesitated for a long time because she's no computer expert and was afraid of making the wrong buy.
A friend of hers recommended the Newegg website, where she found detailed information to help her make the decision.
"I like the website because I could easily look through the products, read the information and make an informed decision tailored to my needs," Wang said.
She finally bought a Sony computer. It took her only 30 minutes to place the order and then go out to pick up the brand-new laptop.
"Gosh, I used to spend half an hour just trying to find parking lot," Wang said. "I never imagined that online shopping was so easy."
E-commerce offers more choices at lower prices.
Jiading dose not home only to Newegg but also an array of online retailers. The eastern China headquarters of 360buy has also been set up in the district, enabling local residents to pick up products on the same day they are ordered.
